Excavator maintenance precautions
The purpose of regular maintenance on excavators is to reduce machine failures, extend machine service life, shorten machine downtime, improve work efficiency, and reduce operating costs.
By managing fuel, lubricants, water and air, failures can be reduced by 70%. In fact, around 70% of failures are due to poor management.
Daily inspection
Visual inspection: A visual inspection should be carried out before starting the locomotive. Thoroughly inspect the locomotive surroundings and bottom in the following order:
1. Whether there is oil, fuel and coolant leakage.
2. Check for loose bolts and nuts.
3. Whether there are broken wires, short circuits and loose battery connectors in the electrical circuit.
4. Whether there is oil pollution.
5. Whether there is an accumulation of civilian objects.
Daily maintenance precautions
Routine inspection work is an important part of ensuring that hydraulic excavators can maintain efficient operation for a long time. Especially for self-employed individuals, doing a good job in daily inspection work can effectively reduce maintenance costs.
First, turn around the machine twice to check the appearance and whether there is any abnormality in the mechanical chassis, and whether there is grease flowing out of the slewing bearing, then check the deceleration brake device and the bolt fasteners of the crawler. If it is a wheeled excavator, it is necessary to check whether the tires are abnormal and the stability of the air pressure.
Check whether the bucket teeth of the excavator have great wear. It is understood that the wear of the bucket teeth will greatly increase the resistance during the construction process, which will seriously affect the work efficiency and increase the wear degree of equipment parts.
Check the stick and cylinder for cracks or oil leakage. Check battery electrolyte to avoid below low level.
The air filter is an important part to prevent a large amount of dusty air from entering the excavator, and it should be checked and cleaned frequently.
Always check whether fuel, lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, coolant, etc. need to be added, and it is best to choose the oil according to the requirements of the manual and keep it clean.
Check after start
1. Whether the whistle and all the instruments are in good condition.
2. The starting state, noise and exhaust color of the engine.
3. Whether there is oil, fuel and coolant leakage.
Fuel management
Different brands of diesel oil should be selected according to different ambient temperatures (see Table 1 for details); diesel oil should not be mixed with impurities, lime soil and water, otherwise the fuel pump will be worn prematurely;
the high content of paraffin and sulfur in inferior fuel oil will affect the engine. Cause damage; the fuel tank should be filled with fuel after the daily operation to prevent water droplets on the inner wall of the fuel tank;
open the drain valve at the bottom of the fuel tank to drain the water before daily operation; after the engine fuel is used up or the filter element is replaced, the air in the road must be exhausted.
