Excavator idler rollers are used to guide the track to rotate correctly and prevent it from running off and off the track. Most idlers also function as track rollers. This can increase the contact area of the track to the ground and reduce the specific pressure on the ground. The  surface of the roller is made smooth, and there is an arm ring in the middle as a guide. The torus supports the rail surface.
